About
Hmm … <looks around> and what was I supposed to do here ? …
Hmm … <sees the page title> “About” ? “About” what ?
The Meaning of Life ? Food ? Politics ? Nah, I’m not very good at that …
Well, considering that this is a blog and out of sheer and suspicious accident I find myself here as it’s creator I suppose I’ll have to scribble something on this “About” page to fill you in as to who the hell am I and where’s this fiery band-wagon of mine supposed to be heading. So, without further a-do … time to fire up our amplifier and set the volume up real high!
My name’s Wojtek (I guess that english-speaking folks should receive a helping hand here on the subject of “How the hell do you pronounce that ?“. Answer: it’s like pronouncing something like: “Voyteck”) and I was born on May 12th, 1987.
I come from (and actually am still living in) Poland. My home is the small town of Lebork, but right now I’m living in Poland’s capitol, Warsaw, because I’ve just started studying Computer Sciences at the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology (I know that the name’s kinda weird and sadly there’s no wiki page in English about it which I could present :( ). One other good reason as to why I’m here is that my girlfriend lives and studies in Warsaw too :).
My hobbies are: music, High Fidelity equipment (mostly audio), computers, cars n’ motorbikes (although I have yet to own one of those) and I always enjoy reading a good book.

OK, now that you know some of the basics about me, let’s focus on the sense of existence of this here blog …
Let’s start with the name and URL (web address) of it. Why “YoungHiFi.com” ?
I’ll strip it into two parts:
1. Young - well, I’m 20, so I consider myself still being rather young
2. HiFi - shortcut of “High Fidelity”. I also consider myself being an “audiophile“, which generally means that I like listening to music to such extent that I’m only satisfied with hearing sound playback of the highest quality. As to what exactly does that mean I’ll try and elaborate later in a blog post …
So now when we join these two parts we get Young and Hifi, meaning that this blog’s main subject is related to my personal exploits and experiences in the High Fidelity topic as a young audiophilia adept (which I think is pretty genuine on the world wide web).
I’ll also try to cover some subjects concerning computer software, my personal rants, various reviews and anything that I consider useful for fellow music enthusiasts :).
One more thing which might bug you after reading this: why am I writing in English although I live in Poland and am Polish ? Well, one thing is that I always wanted my blog to be in English (cause the English-speaking community’s larger and so on). The other thing is that I think while I’ll be “maintaining” an English blog, It’ll help me to further enhance and hone my English language skills.
That’s all about me and my blog, I guess. I hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I’ll have fun writing it.
